The central African country of Uganda meets every expectation a traveller could have of 'dark Africa'. Uganda is quiet small compared to its neighbouring countries, yet the local people are extremely friendly and there is a large diversity of landscapes and animal species. During safaris, boat trips and walks you will be able to get a good impression of the multi-faceted landscapes that charmed Winston Churchill so deeply, he described the country as the 'pearl of Africa'.
Winston Churchill was so struck by the natural beauty of Uganda at the beginning of the 20th century, that he ascribed to it the following famous words: 'Uganda is from end to end a beautiful garden... the pearl of Africa.' A few things have changed since then of course, yet its natural beauty remains.
Uganda's altitude means that the country has a pleasant climate, in spite of its close proximity to the equator. In addition to tropical rainforests, Uganda also has a biologically diverse volcano region comprising many different formations. For example, volcano lakes (volcanoes filled with water), impenetrable tropical forests and savannahs across which elephants meander. There are countless lakes and the south-eastern part of the country borders the famous Lake Victoria, the source of the Nile, which changes in name a few times as it flows through this country.
All Over Tours invites you to explore Uganda's incredible nature to your heart's content and, as the pièce de résistance, gives you the opportunity to visit the mountain gorillas.
In the far north lies Kidepo Valley National Park; the landscape of which makes it one of Uganda's most spectacular parks. There are numerous mountain forests savannahs and the different altitudes in this area give rise to breathtakingly beautiful views. The highlight of a visit to Murchison Falls National Park is a boat trip to the bottom of the waterfalls, where you will see crocodiles, hippos, waterbucks and buffaloes. The rainforest in Kibale Forest National Park is home to no less than twelve different primates, which live here in closer harmony than anywhere else in the world. The journey to the park takes you past Ugandan villages and offers you a fantastic view over the Western Rift Valley. Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most visited game park in Uganda, thanks to the vast abundance of animals in the park: for a start, there are almost 100 different types of mammal living here. Another unforgettable experience is a visit to see the mountain gorillas that live in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. But... Bwindi has much more in store than merely mountain gorillas. For those visitors who can't get enough of the primates, it is also possible to visit Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary and see the chimpanzees that were rescued as babies and now live in care.
